He stood in front of the class and talked very fast for 2 hours without any visuals or organization tools to help us follow. He used incredibly formal language that made it hard to understand what he was saying When he posted a practice final hypo - he said that he wouldn’t post a model answer, so now we have to go into a Con Law final without knowing what an answer should actually look like. Too many cases that overwhelm us, way too much information given in the reading for one class that one cannot pick up on the very specific things he is looking for us to pick up on. I think exposing students to the exam process earlier would be useful. Taking a moment to do a big picture of what will be learned and how you are expected to apply it. This was sort of talked about, but it was not explained in a very clear way until later into the semester. Going through one hypo with the class on how you would actually answer it, and showing a model answer, would be incredibly useful. Understanding the material is one thing, displaying it in the way the rubric wants is another. Being blind of the rubric is not a useful exercise in learning. I think that Professor Reyes could prompt more debate about the topics at hand. The conversation can turn rather one-sided, depending upon the topic. I think there would be some benefit to assigning a bit less homework for each class. Not significant, but maybe 1 or 2 less cases per assigned reading would still have the same effect in my opinion. It was a bit overwhelming at times.
