Spring 2022 Course Evaluations
have spent preparing for this class and our other classes that we will never get back. Also, it is incredibly unfair for 1A to be held accountable for information we never received formal instruction on for the final. It only would have been fair if our exam was open book to level the playing field for those who do not have an in-depth knowledge of Constitutional Law. Though I did not like constitutional law, I hope the best for my professor and truly, truly, wish his family success and luck. Thank you I am extremely disappointed with the way that the school handled Professor Pokorak’s family emergency. We were a month behind on the syllabus and Professor Pokorak was going to adjust the final to the content that we were actually able to cover in class. However, bringing in a new professor who is expecting us learn a completely new syllabus 3 weeks before the final is ridiculous. We paid a lot of money for this class and we are going to end up teaching it to ourselves. The pass/fail option isn’t really ideal and a portion of students like myself, know nothing about Constitutional law while other students have taken classes prior. There should have been a better plan in place such as having this new professor adjust his test to what we learned with Pokorak and what he taught us or to give us an open note/book final like pokorak intended to give us. This was a tough semester I am sending professor Pokora and his family so many warm wishes. He really did try his absolute best and I commend him for all of his efforts. Professor Reyes is a star as well although their teaching styles are different they both make Con Law interesting in different ways. Prof. Pokorak is a fantastic and brilliant person and I respect him deeply. However, I wish class had been more lecture-based so that I could understand the material more clearly. My review is reflective of the beginning of the semester. I feel bad leaving a negative review in light of everything that has happened however it needs to be addressed and in the future class time needs to be spent more effectively. I think Professor Pokorak was a wonderful professor. He was genuine and made class more tolerable with his lectures. Although our time was cut short, I believe he is one of the best professors. I understand that Professor Pokorak had an extenuating circumstance mid-semester, however, even prior to this situation our class was extremely behind and disorganized. When we were switched to Prof. Reyes I evaluated where we were meant to be on the syllabus in comparison to where we actually were, and we were at least a month behind. HOURS of class time were wasted in conversation irrelevant to course material. The day of our graded midterm Prof. Pokorak spent 1 hour 20 minutes discussing current events when there was material were were meant to know for the exam that had been yet to be taught. The midterm itself was extremely unfair, with questions he’d dismissed in class as irrelevant and joke answers. I felt like I was cheated of genuinely learning in this course. I enjoyed having Professor Pokorak for the short time we had this year. I enjoyed the music he
