Spring 2022 Course Evaluations

In what way(s) did this course benefit your professional or intellectual development?

It was helpful that the Professor asked for feedback midway through the semester and actually implemented the changes. I also really appreciated the guest speakers we had throughout the semester. I found them really interesting and it gave us a chance to see something practice based, which we don’t see every semester. The problems were helpful There is so much to learn with estate planning. Being from a blue collar family I’ve already gotten multiple family members to go write a will and start planning for their elder years. The guest lecture with Attorney Cohen (elder law attorney) was especially informative because it shed light on potential predatory behavior by other family members. He gave us guidance on the bar and real life situations. This course expanded my understanding of wills, trusts, estates, etc. I had taken a prior estate class which I would have done better in if I had taken this course first. Well, I now know that trust and states isnt as clear and cut as I would have assumed. And now I know to make a will and trust. prof. commented on things we may see on the bar and gave us a few examples from previous year. it was interesting to see the focus of the bar. - I learned the formalities of a will He did a great job on focusing on what we needed to know for the bar. I know that must’ve taken a lot of effort and it is appreciated. I learned about trusts and estates. Hands on work on legal documents Prepared me for the bar exam. It is a very relevant subject area and Professor Borrison incorporate real life examples into our learning which was very helpful It’s on the bar.
