Spring 2022 Course Evaluations

What aspect(s) of the course or instruction could be improved?

change the whole first few classes in which we didn’t learn anything but were expected to know how to compute tax liability, less group discussions, less time spent on cases, more time spent on actually doing the work Maybe a break in class since it is 1 hr 50 min class and dense material The practice problem given to us at the beginning of the semester I found to be unhelpful. The textbook is very expensive. - Taking a break during class maybe the use of a 2-3 minute break. it is hard to sit still and give my full attention for the 2 hours I feel the course functioned well and would not change anything. I really like the class structure and instruction. Professor Corbett is amazing. Easy to approach with questions and always willing to help! Not much. Rather than spending a great deal of time at the beginning of the semester discussing the fundamentals of gross income, I wish we had instead saved more time towards the end of the semester to slow down as concepts got more difficult. It felt as though the end of the semester material was a bit rushed, and these were unfortunately the most difficult aspects of the course and most math heavy. Very minor complaint, because, honestly, there is not much to complain about, but perhaps pacing the class such that there is a full week left at the end to go over the great study packet Prof. Corbett put together for us. It was such a fantastic study tool, but we didn’t have much time to dig into it. I think the way the holidays fells this semester is mostly to blame, but maybe just building in a safety "buffer" day would be nice.
