Spring 2022 Course Evaluations

The E&E book - I liked how it incorporates the assigned cases in class. It helps contextualize them, because we don’t always hit on all of the explanations on each one in class. Professor Glannon, is an ideal educator he takes the time to introduce the topic and allow the class a chance to fully understand the material before moving on to case law that supports the topic and finally enhances the understanding by offering relevant hypotheticals. He also cements the topic by offering biweekly quizzes on the material covered in class, and then offers the answers with an explanation. Professor Glannon is an incredibly kind professor. The way he engages students in class and repeats hypos when asking students to answer helps to keep people focused and makes people feel comfortable enough to take risks and answer questions they might not be so sure on. Teaching from both the casebook and the E&E, as well as the multitude of practice questions he offered, helped to solidify the rules we needed to learn about torts. In other courses, learning from the casebook can be confusing so combining it with the E&E helped to alleviate any confusion. He is my favorite professor which I have had at Suffolk Law. Students who don’t feel comfortable participating in other courses because of the environment have began to participate in his courses because of the inclusive, respectful, and calming environment he fosters in the classroom (even while doing socratic!). While we’re in a lecture, it feels more like a conversation between professional colleagues and I think that really helps the learning environment. If anyone at Suffolk Law deserves a raise, it is Professor Glannon! -I love the way he integrates emails/facts from his professional colleagues into the classroom when commenting on ongoing cases and MA law! -His optional midterm and willingness to go through it with students individually was extremely helpful. Not many other professors are willing to do that! -His TA Jeff was great! The TA reviews were very helpful, the midterm, and the quizzes. They all helped me check my understanding throughout the semester Glannon’s sincere interest in the topic enhanced my learning. He truly is passionate about us understanding. The E&E book was really helpful and clarified a lot of the concepts. However sometimes I feel like we use an example too many times when going over a concept and it students start to confuse themselves Glannon knew everything possible and was passionate about teaching Professor Glannon creates a very welcoming environment for questions and answers them thoroughly. He also makes sure his students understand the concept before moving on to a different topic. Prof. Glannon enhanced my learning of torts through posing constant hypotheticals and posing different situations in class. This helped further my understanding of the topics covered. Glannon’s cold calling is fair and he seeks to keep everyone involved throughout the class The quizzes were really helpful for reviewing and gauging where I was with the material
