In what way(s) did this course benefit your professional or intellectual development?

It helped me to prepare to be an attorney. I liked how the assignments were actual things attorneys need to do in their careers. hands-on experiential learning opportunities The practical skills targeted at preparing new associates for practice were helpful It was incredibly helpful to hear from a new attorney about what to expect practicing in the first few years. Particularly culturally in firms and how to deal with clients and opposing counsel, things that you don’t typically learn in classrooms. By creating actual work product, I gained real experience and am confident to draft some of these motions on my own if I was asked to do so at work. This class was meant to give us practice with things we would need for our first few years of practice. We were able to meet local attorneys and work with them multiple times so it was a great way to hear from recent grads and more seasoned attorneys. Also, the assignments and projects we submitted were things that we would encounter in practice, so it was a good way to get this experience and receive some feedback prior to being in practice.
