OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations

What did you like most about the online portion of the course and what areas could be improved? The examples and explanations readings Disliked it entirely; get rid of it. The online portion made breakout room discussion easy and efficient. I think, however, we could use more time in the breakout rooms to discuss our stance and arguments. I realize we were behind in some classes, but I think it was difficult to come up with arguments in 10 minutes. Make it in person. 40% of the grade is participation which is difficult to do over zoom. Conversations are much better in person, and if 40% of the grade is going to be discussion based, the class should really be in person to facilitate a better conversation environment I like the flexibility that online learning provides, but I think it prevents effective class discussion and limits participation. I think Professor Ferrey is a wealth of knowledge and was very helpful whenever I reached out to him. However, I was incredibly disappointed with the class. I learned very little from it. Lectures were scattered and never connected to each other. On paper, this course sounded great and I was very excited to take it. But my fellow students and I were very let down by what the course ended up being. flexibility with my other personal commitments.
