OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations

What aspect(s) of the course or instruction could be improved? While the syllabus did provide all relevant information is was at times confusing to read. A more clear format with just the units and reading assignments in one document and a separate one with the questions for class would be a great way to address this issue. I would actually suggest more quizzes as there were only 5 and a good 1/3 of the last of the class was never quizzed. I love using those quizzes to study for the final and would really appreciate all the content to be covered. I think there is too much to learn in a single term. I feel like time necessitated us skipping over important topics it would be beneficial to have covered. Professor Glannon is an effective and highly knowledgable instructor. I appreciated taking his class and nothing else could be done to improve it. I feel sufficiently challenged in his class to grapple with the material. I will never forget him. The quizzes end up sucking an inordinate amount of time out of the semester, and are seemingly phrased specifically to trick you, instead of solely test on the material. More online supplemental material, discussion of quizzes in class One aspect would be to specify the readings required for the following class. Sometimes when emails are sent out detailing what we will cover in the next case, it can be confusing to know what exactly needs to be prepared. It sometimes felt as though the material was gone over too quickly. Some topics were covered in just a day. While this is probably just the nature of the beast because there is a lot of material to cover and little time, it sometimes felt that we spent too long on topics in the beginning and not long enough near the end. At times, Professor Glannon would press forward on a new topic before the class was ready. I know that the pacing of the semester is important, but we had plenty of time by the end of the semester and could have spent more time and hours on challenging concepts. Also, the exam grading was unclear and did not make sense to me or a number of my classmates. More exam preparation would be helpful. A more consistent pace with which material was covered could have been beneficial. The course understandably ramped up throughout the semester, but there were some rules covered in the latter half of the semester which could have been clearer if more time was spent covering them, especially since there seemed to be more time to cover them given that less material was being covered in the last weeks of class. Practice quiz question bank, if available (E+E guidance, etc.). It is too repetitive Professor Glannon ' s quizzes often had misspelled names- given how stressful the quizzes were, this did not help. That said, I was grateful to have the quizzes to check my progress in the course. N/A
