Super organized, made a complicated class much easier The polls and hypos throughout class kept me extremely engaged. I appreciate how much preparation Prof. S puts into each of her classes, its clear she is listening to students and making sure we are on track. I ' ve taken a lot of zoom classes and I ' ve never had one which was so engaging and really forced me to learn the material (in a good way!). Even on days I was less prepared, I felt Prof. S ' s instruction was clear and concise -- she really breaks down the concepts and drills them until they are instinctual. Professor Scheuerman provided numerous opportunities for gauging my understanding of class material through online quizzes, class polls, and class breakout rooms. Perhaps the most beneficial aspect of Professor Scheuerman ' s teaching was her use of hypothetical questions/activities in every class. This ensured that students not only understood the material presented, but able to apply the material to a specific fact pattern. Professor Scheuerman ' s teaching style allowed me to enhance my learning in an online environment. She made sure to start each class 5 minutes early with a song request from students to wake everyone up (10:00am class) and prepared to engage. Her energetic personality allowed me to maintain focus throughout instruction. Her lesson plan was efficient as she started with student questions, required feedback from us, broke up lectures with break-out rooms, and explained material in-depth. Your very clear and organized Power Point slides. quizzes and worksheets THE PROFESSOR ' S TEACHING STYLE AND ENGAGEMENT WITH STUDENTS Professor Scheuerman and this course provided expansive ways in learning about the core concepts associated with trust & estates generally. Professor Scheuerman highlighted our experience and educational backgrounds when it came to understanding, explaining, or distilling certain concepts. Reassuring us, the students, that the diverse knowledge we have, that might seem "remote" is in-fact vary relevant to practicing in this area or making a legal analysis with specific facts. I can confidently say that this course has enhanced my general learning of the law by taking time to appreciate and understand different concepts that are used in other sectors (e.g., economics, banking regulations, business venture developments, etc.). I really appreciated Professor Scheuerman ' s use of technology to enhance participation and engagement in the class. The use of "MUD cards" to encourage students to submit questions about the class for us to review in the next class was brilliant, I wish every class did this. I think it was a great way for students to ask questions, and for the entire class to benefit from the review. I personally did not submit any MUD cards (yet), but I really benefited from my peers questions.
