Below are the responses to the three open-ended questions asked regarding the instructor and the course. Please note, student responses have not been edited in any way. Blank pages indicate no response for that question. What aspect(s) of the course or instruction enhanced your learning? The quizzes were a good check point and MUD cards were helpful too I really liked the presentations that focused on the big takeaways since T&E can be very confusing for me. The interactive nature of the online class. Prof. S should hold seminars and teach other online instructors how to teach online because she is so good at it. The instruction method forces us to meaningfully participate in breakout rooms and in the main session. Doing the hypos in class helps me learn and apply what we learned. I like the in-class polls too because they are a low pressure, low-stress way of testing/gauging my understanding. Professor Scheuerman is very comfortable using the various technologies available to make remote learning engaging. Through in class polls, chats, and connected quizzes I was able to continuously gauge my understanding of the material and clarify any confusion in the moment, it also allowed her to see on average which topics our class was struggling and adjust her lesson as necessary. Her MUD cards serve as an actionable conduit to seek help as oppose to simply saying "ask questions if you have them," which usually leads students to hold onto questions since, usually, the only way to ask them is in office hours, which are rarely convenient. (That was a horrible run on sentence, sorry!) Most of the methods in the course were effectively used to teach in a way that reinforced what we were learning. She was very thorough in covering the topics and there was a nice variety to the manner we used classtime I think the quizzes were incredibly helpful in affirming my understanding or flagging areas where I
