OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations
What aspect(s) of the course or instruction could be improved? PPT text was too small, professor did not seem engaged and excited about topic, low energy class. This was the worst class I have taken in my law school career. The course started with us having to buy brand new textbooks with quizzing, rather than have the professor draft her own quizzes. In addition to not drafting her own quizzes, she also used another professor ' s slides, rather than create them herself. Her lack of effort that she put into teaching was evident. There were many times when students asked her questions that she did not know the answer to. Really, really disappointed that I spent so much tuition money on this class. I could have read the textbook on my own. Better in class discussion lead by the professor along with better visual learning aids (power point) can ' t think of anything. Professor Malley knows the topic well. She needs to focus on important topics and spend more time on them. She will be a great teacher once she has the confidence to carefully curate her lesson plan rather than speed reading slides that cover every topic heading in the book. Also, if she wants to use quizzes, she should take the time to make the questions herself. The questions on connected quizzing test obscure topics that don ' t reflect that Professor Malley empathized in her lectures. more interactive and interesting material I think this should be a mid-day class; coming in in the evening when you ' re basically drained, coupled with the dry material, is a recipe for not getting it. Some lecture topics felt to big for the lecture time and the slides were very informative but had too much information at once. I feel as if Professor Malley could appear a bit more passionate about teaching and/or promote some more class discussion. She appeared a bit frazzled at times or gave off the impression that she didn ' t really care about the way the class was going, but she was always super kind and willing to help if asked. There were a few times where I got a little lost because we were going a bit fast but I was usually able to get back on track. I think sometimes we were assigned more material than we could cover and we rushed through the end of class so it was difficult to digest the information towards the end of class at times. Overall, Professor Malley was wonderful and always encouraged us to reach out if we had additional questions or wanted further review. More in-class problem review. I have no feedback for what Professor Malley can improve, I only hope she offers more courses next spring. Her teaching style and the way her class is set up is similar to Professor Graham and I know I ' m not alone when I say that I wish I could have had her for my 1L year.
