OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations

is simply too much to memorize. Either the class should be two semesters or students should be allowed maybe one sheet of paper in the exam. None. Make the course a year long. Property could be improved by having more details on what we ' re covering each day in the syllabus. For readings, it would list all the chapters that we were covering for the entire week which was tough since we would need to do all the readings, just to never get to them that week and cover them first thing next. None The professor does not always see students with their hands raised. I think it would benefit the class if she took more time to look around the room. (It could be a time thing). I found the course and professor engaging, so I have very little that could be improved. I wouldn ' t change really anything except for making the class possibly a bit more lively with more group discussions instead of always being straight to the point. I think Professor Griffith did a great job of effectively reviewing the material. One thing that I think could be changed is allowing for at least a one page outline for the final. With the amount of material that is going to be covered on the final exam, plus the fact that it is the first semester of law school, allowing at least a one page cheat sheet for the final would be beneficial. I learned that this class used to be two semesters. While I feel comfortable in my understanding of the material, it does feel like a lot to be expected to know for a closed-book exam. Also, I wonder if the chapters regarding future and present estates, and Rules of Perpetuity could have been broken down a bit further. Professor Griffith did a great job reiterating what was in the textbook but I think additional visuals could have been helpful for this difficult topic. I cannot think of any major improvements to this class or to Professor Griffith ' s teaching style. If anything, I sometimes had trouble hearing her but that ' s obviously not a reflection of the class. I think a few of the chapters should have been stretched for more classes. Mostly chapter 9 and 10. They were very dense and I think we needed more time to go through. I think maybe some more real life applications would be helpful to understand the context in which the rules apply. I honestly don ' t see how Professor Griffith could improve. The only time class was ever disturbed was when there were technically difficulties, and even then they were fixed very quickly. I have no suggested improvements. Additional time spent on more complex subjects. More in-class exercises to explain concepts. Opportunity for further practice and review during class time. More focus on understanding the course material.
