OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations
In what way(s) did this course benefit your professional or intellectual development? I gained an understanding of the material The subject is going to be on the bar and also helpful as a transactional lawyer so it is important I have a good grasp on the subject. Understanding the importance of foundational concepts in corporate law In short, everything. Very heavily bar tested, so I feel like I have a good grasp. I also like how much of what we did all connected together, so even when we had moved onto other topics, we were still mentioning and reviewing the first things we did. It ' s nice seeing how everything fits together big picture. I learned important and relevant concepts for providing representation to a business. I think I learned the basic structure of the different business entities. I have a basic understanding of how the corporate world operates Taking notes ability I find business concepts challenging but Pizzano did an effective job at putting things in plain terms. Understanding concepts of agency. Professor Pizzano emphasized public speaking and broader perspective in analysis, which was helpful to me. I now know a lot about this area of law I definitely know more about business entitites fundamentals Although Professor Pizzano has a tendency to meander around the material, I found his real life examples to be extremely helpful in understanding otherwise complicated legal concepts. He is generally a funny and kind person, and this definitely helped me get through the class. The course deepened my understanding of the way the business world operates. I feel confident in my knowledge going forward of business entities, especially corporations and corporate dynamics. Business Entity Fundamentals taught me an important bar prep course, which will help me in my professional career. I also felt that the course benefitted my intellectual development by tying together courses that previously felt separate (i.e. torts, contracts, and property). Professionally, this course taught me the importance of fairness and common sense in the legal system. It will help me pass the bar. Personally though, I despise profit-driven thinking. I feel confident that I understand the concepts that will be tested on the Bar and can move forward with all that I have learned to succeed on those questions.
