OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations

In what way(s) did this course benefit your professional or intellectual development? I found that the class provided interesting discussions on different aspects of the legal profession. It made me challenge the law more than most classes do. Preparing myself for my career and some of the difficult decisions I may have to make as well as learning the rules as a whole. I think this class helped prepare me fairly well for the MPRE. Professer Schendel furthered my professional development in professional responsibility by having guest lecturers come into most of our classes to discuss their legal careers. I learned so much from these lecturers and think this type of real-world knowledge is rare in legal classes and should be encouraged! In addition, the module quizzes helped prepare me for the MPRE. Now I understand the ethical obligations of a lawyer that are necessary to practice. I now have an understanding of the MRPC This course allows me to analyze not only ethical issues that implicate the Model Rules of Professional Conduct, but also examine how I might react to other ethical dilemmas that arise in the practice of the law. Professional Responsibility taught me the MRPC, prepared me for the MPRE, and taught me important lessons that I will take with me throughout my professional career. I learned what is expected of lawyers in the profession and how to behave as a future attorney. I really enjoyed the guest lectures. It was beneficial to see all the fields of law that folks were practicing in and the different career trajectories that are available with a law degree. I also enjoyed the self-reflection assignments, as they allowed for a moment to stop and reflect on my values, goals, desires, etc.
