However, as a result, it prompted additional research and opportunities for learning, which often exposed me to varying view points on fundamental issues of Constitutional Law. Still wish that final was open book or partial open book. Felt my heart shatter a bit when I saw on the syllabus that the final wouldn’t be. I would not recommend her as a professor to any one and will not be taking any more of her courses. Because she didn’t get through all the material on time she has assigned over 300 pages to read the week before finals. The professor of this course was extremely ineffective when it came to teaching constitutional law. I left the course feeling even more confused than when I went into it. This is a very important course and it makes me sad that the professor took away from this learning experience. Professor Landers is one of the most intelligent people I have ever encountered thus far in law school. That being said, I think she assumes too much about the student’s intelligence and understanding of certain concepts and the way she explains can easily go over people’s heads. I also felt that I struggled with seeing the bigger picture and connection in everything we were learning. I never missed class and kept up with readings, except in health emergencies, and when i took the midterm and BLSA mock I felt clueless and I fear for the final exam. I think more insight on application of concepts would be helpful Constitutional law is hard especially for me with an international legal background. I recommend that some sort of background is given in order to help better follow the syllabus. Professor Landers is an absolutely brilliant woman and professor and her success in the fields she has worked in, shines within her instruction. However, it felt that she was so smart that it was difficult for her to convey the material we needed to learn in a way that was comprehensive to 1st year students. It was a difficult semester not only because the material is more difficult than other subjects, but also because it felt like it was not broken down enough in class.
