It was clear that she used the same exact syllabus from prior years without making a single change before providing it to us. Numerous times she would say something is a mistake in the syllabus when people relied on what was stated in the syllabus. She is also disrespectful when a student does not know how to answer her very confusing questions when being cold called. She does not make it a healthy environment to be in and learn. Prof. Landers can be mean and aggressive in class. Her cold calls definitely build character and that is always beneficial for future situations. Yet, her attitude toward students is terrifying. She has a tendency to belittle students, especially when they don’t understand a topic or know the correct answer. There have been times in class where, after a student’s cold call, I think to myself "that would have brought me to tears." Professor Landers created an intentionally intimidating environment. The information is posed in a way that makes it harder to understand (every other professor I have tried to break material down and explain it - that was not the case here). Not a healthy learning environment; I have done well in my other classes and I hope to do well in this course, but I was constantly uncomfortable and intimidated in this course I think if expectations were better explained as to what to prepare for class as well as a better reading schedule would help the class be more productive. None. Thank you Professor Landers, you work hard to navigate and direct difficult conversations with grace. I appreciate your efforts to broaden our perspectives and help us to see the application of complex ideas of Con Law and their impact on us and our fellow citizens, and denizens. Hope to take more classes with you in the future! Professor landers was very helpful overall! I enjoyed her course. Good material, organized, but unengaing. ’- I personally feel offended that she won a teaching award and am expected as a class to sit and take a final exam on Con Law when we have not actually learned a thing. - The syllabus provides no guidance and on numerous occasions had mistakes in them - This class made me feel like my education and valuable tuition being paid is a joke because we are expected to sit and take a final exam for a class that has not provided us with any substance or clear understanding of what Constitutional LAW is - buying the supplement is recommended however I don’t find it helpful especially because I know I can’t teach myself the material and how they apply without an example from the professor on how they expect us to approach exam questions Professor Landers is a brilliant and incredible person, however, I often felt that there were times where she was not clear about what the objectives of the course were, or what was necessary to be taken away from any given reading.
