Spring 2022 Course Evaluations
In what way(s) did this course benefit your professional or intellectual development?
I didn’t know anything about Con Law before taking this class It was nice to talk about modern events through the lens of the law, but this discussion should be more limited. Intellectually, class discussion about current events was helpful, but not in relation to the class material. Class discussions were relevant to real world events - made learning very applicable. I feel as though I have a better understanding of the powers of our government. It did not, I learned next to nothing from this course. It is important to understand how our Constitutional interpretation as a country has been applied throughout time. Felt more aware about current events and con law issues The class did not help my professional or intellectual development whatsoever. Off-topic discussions were extremely biased toward one political identity and countering stances were quickly put down without being given valid feedback. I have a more in-depth knowledge of Marbury v. Madison. This class did not benefit me It has forced me to teach myself because we were so massively behind on the syllabus and with the professor switch there are full sections we are not being taught. class preparation through panel prep, understanding the law in the real world through discussing current events this was the most successful part of class while i might not have learned con law perfectly but talking about current events and the impact of the cases was very important to my growth as a professional and a citizen It helped me understand how the court analyzes issues. I really love Constitutional law and history in general, so I kind of just enjoyed being in this class. I am a big politics nerd, so it was really more fun than anything. it did not The concepts covered were beneficial, especially for the bar exam. Professor Polkorak was unable to communicate with us in language that we understand, he often discussed material in very high level terms and legaleese and would talk about concepts that were very far fetched from what we were meant to be discussing. I was excited to see how Constitutional Law was so relevant to daily life, but disappointed not to have a stronger grasp of the basis principles. He should discuss each case assigned to us per class and help us with analyzing them. I cannot give an accurate evaluation because we did not have a full semester with Professor Pokorak
