Every now and then, Prof. Wilton would spend the first 30 or so minutes of class lecturing. This was essentially the only valuable time he spent in class and where I felt I was learning something. I liked that when we were not on call we could actually focus and not have to worry about getting randomly called on. The textbook and the professor’s lecture. Reading the cases helped me understand. Professor Wilton leads interesting discussions that I think tease out the issues at state in constitutional law. on call discussions Professor Wilton was able to apply each week’s case readings to real life situations that are happening in real time. He was also able to explain why case rulings in constitutional law at the supreme court level are always important to review throughout history because it is very likely that some rules may be overturned in the coming years since a lot of these cases are 5-4 votes. Sometimes students question why we are reviewing cases from so long ago, and Professor Wilton does a great job in explaining why all cases are relevant. I thought Prof. Wilton was a thought provoking, interesting professor. I enjoyed having him. The selection of cases we read were interesting and effectively enhanced my learning.
