Spring 2022 Course Evaluations

Below are the responses to the three open-ended questions asked regarding the instructor and the course. Please note, student responses have not been edited in any way. Blank pages indicate no response for that question. What aspect(s) of the course or instruction enhanced your learning? I very much enjoyed learning more about con law. it was good ’-Guest lecturers (prof. infrance specifically) helped me understand material well and gave me new perspectives to teach on. I liked how in the first semester we would cover cases and concepts in depth, and I felt that those classes left me feeling well prepared to cover the material with my students. I also liked when we drafted and shared hypos - it made for good discussion in our seminar, and having the hypos available to use in teaching was great. I really liked when the professors modeled activities we could use with our students - for example, starting out with a Do Now exercise or providing us with a worksheet designed for high school students. Dean McLaurin is very flexible and passionate about this opportunity and course material in an infectious way which helps students stay engaged and involved Our in-class debriefs and discussions greatly enhanced my learning and helped me understand that the different schools we taught at had different needs. I was worried that my class was behind the others, but those debrief sessions helped me realize that was not the case. I also enjoyed our lesson on adolescent development, as it helped me in my teaching.
