Spring 2022 Course Evaluations

Additional comments

i found it difficult to answer the questions on the previous page because I was too distracted every class by pizzano badgering his students about the mask policy, about a student who "ratted him out" for not wearing a mask, and his general inappropriateness with students. On multiple occasions he pretended to choke students - only female students - in an effort to connect some concept to business entities. I was too distracted by my professor pretending to choke young women to connect what he was trying to say. He took off his mask and stuck out his tongue after concerns were voiced over his berating the mask policy DAILY. What a waste of time listening to him rant about his freedoms being taken away by a mask mandate when i was supposed to be learning business entities fundamentals. This is not why i came to Suffolk and i am deeply disturbed by this man’s continued presence here. When he wasn’t ranting about masks or pretending to choke women, he was scattered, made incoherent drawings on the board, spoke of his personal life constantly trying to unsuccessfully tie it to business entities. He is a Professor Pizzano is a very kind man but he tends to make inappropriate comments in class that he should be held accountable for. I think it would an opportunity to learn and grow for students and professors. Professor Pizzano is a good professor and knows the material well. His stories make it a bit easier, but too many stories make it confusing and hard to understand the main point. I also think having sample answers would me it easier to know what he wants on his exams. N/A I would like to address that this Professor also repeatedly throughout the semester articulated tone deaf, inappropriate, and disrespectful comments during class. Classrooms are no place for political opinions and I know a few students who have been extremely uncomfortable and offended by his comments regarding how “silly” COVID-19 and masking is; how he thinks students should “man up” when they have problems and say it to his face rather than “ratting him out to the Dean’s”; and other similarly inappropriate comments that he uses class time to discuss in front of a large audience of students. Professor Pizzano is entitled to his opinions on covid/masks, I wasn’t offended by them, but I didn’t appreciate him using class time for the first few weeks to vent his frustrations just because he had a captive audience. There’s a time and place for those conversations and the beginning of each class wasn’t it. Would gladly have him teach all my courses. Not everyone may love him, but I do This guy is great. Very respectful, very funny, and very personable. I believe he’s genuinely passionate about this course and the material. I often quote his "Boston-isms" to others as profoundly ineffective professor. He should retire. Really enjoyed this class and Pizzano as a Professor!
