In what way(s) did this course benefit your professional or intellectual development?

The practical cases and materials we studied truly helped and will continue to help in my professional and intellectual development. This class helped me understand all of the hats that counsel must play when the client is a biotech company (in house or as outside counsel). I now feel I can better serve these clients since I have somewhat of a foundational understanding of their business. This class is truly an asset. I probably did not capture every detail of the material we covered in class, but just knowing that some of it exists is a big help in the future (i.e., I’ll know what I don’t know, which is more than I knew coming into the class). Biotech and Law allowed me to apply by biological background to the legal aspects of creating or running a biotech business. Biotech law helped me understand the various types of law that are relevant to biotech and ways to navigate it. The class was helpful in giving me a framework from which I can work in the future and gave great advice on everything from corporate law to working with the FDA.
