Spring 2022 Course Evaluations

What aspect(s) of the course or instruction could be improved?

He tends to get a bit disorganized at times. If he clearly would state where we are going next in terms of materials it would help clear up confusion. He cuts off students, racially invalidated Black students’ experiences, and made a hateful speech against Russians. The School has yet to hold him accountable. ~Inappropriate comments made by prof that had little to do with torts (concerning political views voiced) ~prof often did not let students finish thoughts before jumping in: both frustrating and ineffective ~ I would never take another class with this professor. I would never want anyone to have to deal with this man. He literally showed us a movie in class like a high school substitute teacher. No thank you. He refused to wear the mask in our hallways like all the other people in this building. He believes he’s special or above it, it’s gross. I voiced my concerns with the deans who basically told me to go deal with his bullshit myself and that he wouldn’t listen to them! HE CAN’T LISTEN. HE DOESN’T LISTEN. HE IS FUNDAMENTALLY SHIT AT HIS JOB. Good riddance More linear movment through class - or a TA to help assist with reviews None great teacher I think the professor could do a better job at facilitating class discussions, especially towards the end of the semester. There were lots of distasteful and problematic discussions at the end of the semester that made many students feel uncomfortable and I think the professor did not handle it too well. Power points that clearly explain the topics would be helpful. Torts could be improved by Professor Eisenstat being a little more organized and refraining from taking so many questions. I would have really liked if this class had a TA. Not that Professor Eisenstat isn’t doing a good job, but in my other classes my TAs have been a really helpful resource and it’s nice to have a second person to go to for help. Some topics were more challenging than others - I would’ve preferred Prof. Eisenstat anticipate that and allocate a bit more time for the class to understand such topic(s). Class speed - the beginning was nice and slow but as we approach the end, the work is picking up and it feels like we’re speeding through the topics at the end of the semester. There is nothing I would change. N/A Eisenstat is great! Perhaps use more slides/powerpoints. It might be helpful to have a TA available for students to ask questions. It seemed like Eisenstat’s explanations did not help everyone understand, although most students could understand. I did hope for more review sessions throughout the semester, or in the case of our class more practice review problems. While it would take away from class time to go over these, I think at
