Spring 2022 Course Evaluations
Below are the responses to the three open-ended questions asked regarding the instructor and the course. Please note, student responses have not been edited in any way. Blank pages indicate no response for that question. What aspect(s) of the course or instruction enhanced your learning? idk He did reviews and practice problems in class Nope, I’ve gotta say this guy is way the fuck away from reasonable. I can’t be complimentary in any way of this experience. I would have been better off with Barbri alone. The readings were easily managed and wasn’t overwhelming so it allowed me to understand each topic Very clear instructions on what was required and looked for. Casebook readings and class discussions were helpful in enhancing my learning. Readings were quite straightforward and I think the class discussions built off the readings in a productive way. The use of hypotheticals helped explain the topics covered. The assigned textbook is very clear and easy to follow along with, lectures are also not overly complicated. Lots of hypos and examples. Professor Eisenstat just by his nature makes the class pretty interesting and engaging. He is funny and not afraid to show it in class which makes the course more enjoyable. Professor Eisenstat is really good at breaking down complicated concepts. I’ve found that some professors struggle with dumbing things down enough for us measly 1Ls to understand, but I think that Professor Eisenstat has got it down. He moves at a pace that’s easy for us all to follow and his readings are quite concise, which I really appreciate and helps me learn better. Prof. Eisenstat’s teaching style is entertaining, yet effective. He was open to any and all questions and made sure that students knew they didn’t need to apologize when they thought their question was dumb. Professor Eisenstat made the classroom an environment that was conducive to discussion and asking questions. Definitely helped with my understanding of tort law, furthering knowledge I previously had from working in practice before law school. He is real and relatable and this makes his teaching and classroom environment to be even more effective. You can tell he cares about his students. He is vocal about his opinions but does so in a way that others also feel comfortable in stating their opinions. He’s great at making hypos and showing how the slightest changes work in or against a client’s favor and how it correlates with the rules. The material was presented in a way that felt easy to understand. Excellent lectures. I really enjoyed Professor Eisenstat’s use of hypotheticals, which apply the complex rules we were learning. 6
