OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations

What aspect(s) of the course or instruction could be improved? I would have liked more feedback on my essays. I was not given the highest scores, but when looking at the feedback, it was mostly positive. Not super helpful to understand what I was missing. I found this class to be the most challenging and biggest time commitment each week. I wasn ' t prepared for that, given that it is 2 credits, even though I understand that it is appropriately challenging as needed to prepare for the bar exam. However, I wish this class was a 3-credit class to appropriately reflect the amount of time needed to dedicate to this class each week. There were weeks when I spent 10+ hours doing this work to capitalize on bar prep. One aspect of the course that could be improved is perhaps Professor DeFabritiis holding weekly review sessions, whether they be in-person or held via Zoom, for students to at least have a space to ask questions and to review material as a class. N/a The property module was less engaging than the modules for the other subject matter. Two thoughts - this feels much closer to the amount of work for a 3 credit class, and second, it could be good an optional lecture/review for each session that was live for students to join who struggled with a section. The way that the course shifts during the Property unit, with Professor Franzese, was jarring and difficult. By the time we got to Property, I was already accustomed to the Barbri format from the Civil Procedure and Criminal Law units, so it was really uncomfortable and difficult to switch to the new format in Property. If the units in the Spring are structured like the Property unit, I would like to drop the course. No matter how much I studied the outline, created outlines of the outlines, and studied, I still kept getting the wrong answers even though I know the material. I am confused about what to do to pick the right answer, it seems like no matter how much I know the subject, the answer choices still manage to trick me. I really did not like the final format for the Real Property material. It was difficult to follow and did not help my learning in any way. I ' d also like more check-ins from the Professor. I felt like I was in the dark most of the semester and would have appreciated more emails. It seems like we were tested on materials that were not covered in the "lecture" - it would have been helpful to know that we were responsible for the additional materials. None. Anything I suggest is BARBRI related (the property law video ' s audio quality is atrocious) I wish there had been more practice quizzes. Additionally, I found the civ pro lectures to be confusing at times - I ended up returning to the Practice Perfect series through Aspen Publishing in order to fully grasp the material. There was also a lot more work for this class than a typical 2-credit course. I think reducing the number of topics included in one semester would be helpful. For one, this class should without a doubt be a P/F course, and frankly it ' s insane that it ' s
