OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations

Additional comments Professor Yamada is the best!

Really nice guy and good professor. Few things: The concept of having having multiple syllabus ' for each sub-unit of the course made it difficult to plan ahead. On many occasions it seemed we were done with the material for the day but rather than getting let out early (like every other Suffolk professor i ' ve had), we would engage in class discussions that became pretty repetitive. We are busy law students and very much appreciate the extra time when we can leave early !! Thank you Prof Yamada for a wonderful semester! Really amazing professor and class. Would recommend it to anyone interested in this body of law or others offered by professor Yamada. If he brought half his knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching, it would still be a great class. Professor Yamada is a great professor, you can tell he is very passionate and wants us to learn about employment in relation to the world we live in. Professor Yamada clearly enjoys what he teaches and has a passion for people and students ' dignity. I have had the opportunity to chat with him after class about various issues ranging from questions about the class material, to book suggestions, to personal inquiries. I took this course because of my specific interest in the area, but also because so many alumni and upperclass students recommended I take any and every class with Professor Yamada. Hearing about his past work and hopes he has for the future of employment discrimination law is inspiring. This was my favorite course I ' ve taken at Suffolk so far. I really enjoyed the classroom discussions, whether about the reading or real world situations that relate to certain topics we discussed. My one suggestion would be that for finals going forward, the essay should include topics we have discussed in depth during class. On the last day of classes you rushed to teach us information about arbitration and independent contractors because it was on our final. You are really such a great teacher and you do an amazing job of explaining concepts during class (one of the few classes I actually have helpful notes in class), but I do not feel well prepared to write about arbitration and independent contractors because we only briefly discussed it on the last day of class. great professor! the back-to-back 12 page+ essays within 2 weeks of each other is a bit much and beating a dead horse, but other than that, was a great class/experience. what a nice guy!
