OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations

Blank pages indicate no response for that question. What aspect(s) of the course or instruction enhanced your learning? Everything about the class is great, I couldn’t even pick one or two things to highlight. The discussion board was helpful to analyze the material in greater depth. Anything confusing we read about was explained clearly the next class. Really thought provoking around the concept of civil procedure, especially that there are different ideas and views on why the adversary system exists, what is its purpose, and how the rules of civil procedure affect that purpose. The power points and class discussion helped enhance my learning. Professor Simard is lovely and I always enjoy her enthusiasm and knowledge about the subject. As someone who struggles to participate in class, I really enjoyed the opportunity to participate through the discussion posts. It was a great way to reflect on the readings prior to class and helped facilitate the discussion. Uploading comments on Blackboard before class - it seemed to really help break everyone out of their shells and encourage them to actually engage with the class. The discussion posts in response to readings helped keep me accountable with my work but also helped me understand the topics more by commenting/summarizing them in my own words.
