OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations

Blank pages indicate no response for that question. What aspect(s) of the course or instruction enhanced your learning? Very good instructor does not make students feel unintelligent when they get the answer wrong, she teaches with a lot of grace. Very personable willing to help students, she knows how to command a room. All around great lecturer probably one of the best I have ever had. The lectures taught me a lot about how the American legal system works in a way that is more detailed and thorough than I anticipated. I really liked the poll questions in class, I feel like I got a much better understanding of the materials when doing those I appreciated the amount of practice problems provided, whether that be through poll.ev surveys, practice perfect, the examples and explanations book; all of it was greatly beneficial Class questions/ polls Prof. Simard ' s lectures were very organized and easy to follow. It ' s clear she ' s incredibly knowledgeable in this area and it made engaging in class and readings really interesting. I really enjoyed the slides and her structure. practice perfect was very helpful in summarizing topics I think the lectures were the most helpful. The poll questions during class were extremely helpful. Simard was a VERY good professor! She ' d walk you thru case after case, hypo after hypo until you *truly* understood the topic (and you could feel you understood the topic) PollEV was vital for me figuring out what I did and didn’t understand. I wish my other professors used this as well. It was worth the time it took out of class for you to set it up every day. Practice Perfect quizzes were incredibly helpful (even though they cover some things we don’t learn). You’re one of the most effective teachers I’ve ever had (and I’ve been blessed). You merge the facts, their application, the mindset we should have, and do it all in a engaging and friendly manner. The order that we cover the material, on an inter- and intra-day basis is perfect. You don ' t give us too many nitpicky details, but you don ' t leave out stuff and then tell use about it later either. It was nice to start 60% of my law school days with a cute animal picture. You clearly went to a lot of effort to make our class be a pleasant and family environment. I think it ' s no coincidence that having you as our first class and having that culture three days a week set our section up to be so friendly and close as as whole.10/10 experience. Professor Simard was exceptionally helpful in making the classroom discussions engaging by making them less of a lecture and more of a friendly discussion. the in class clicker questions helped me gauge my understanding
