I find online courses are often thought of as not being as beneficial as in person classes. In my experience the effectiveness of online courses is dependent on the teacher ' s comfort with the technology. I have gotten very little out of online courses with professors who can barely log in to zoom. I have also had in person courses which were not as engaging as Professor Scheuerman ' s online course. Having courses taught by professors who are engaging in an online format should be a priority for Suffolk Law School. There are many courses I would like to take but choose not to because they are in person and offered at times that are not practical for me to drive in to Boston to attend. For example this course was 10am MW, my next course is not until 6pm and driving into Boston in morning traffic would have lead to me not learning this material had I not had this online option. Engaging online courses enable students to juggle the many responsibilities of being a law student while enrolling in a wider variety of courses which will assist their bar exam preparation and professional career. Prof S has an effective teaching style that helps you understanding challenging information, and she very much respects her students. Probably the best all around Prof. I ' ve had at Suffolk. The fact that she is not tenured is either just a fluke based on her just beginning to teach, or a testament to how tenure can often go hand in hand with ineffective instruction. Prof. S teaches as if her job depends on it, which it very well may. She is kind, engaging, thorough, and fair. Professor Scheuerman is an excellent and effective professor, similiar to Professor Glannon. I have already recommended her to a number of collegaues as Professor Scheuerman does a great job explaining the topics in an engaging manner. I wish I had time to take additional classes with Professor Scheuerman. I think professor Schuerman is one of the best professors I have had at Suffolk. She is effective but she also is kind, patient, and vocal about her concern for her students mental health. She reminded us at least twice per class every class all semester that we could always reach out to her with questions or concerns and encouraged us to email or chat her on zoom any time we needed to. That kindness goes a long way in making a class feel less stressful and anxiety inducing when the exam is looming.. Prof. S is truly one of the best professors I ' ve ever had! You can tell how much she cares about her students and goes above and beyond to make sure we are all understanding material! I was grateful that Professor Scheuerman required students to meet for office hours at the beginning of the semester and had us fill out a questionnaire so she could build a relationship with each student. During my meeting with Professor Scheuerman, I told her how I find online learning difficult, she was open to suggestions and made it her mission to keep me engaged. While
