OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations

In what way(s) did this course benefit your professional or intellectual development? The course was very engaging and, although fast paced, was really interesting to learn about. I enjoyed learning property and it is very helpful I feel as though I learned a lot of challenging material. Professor Griffith does a great job bringing our cases into real-life problems and experiences. Being prepared for class and the questions she would ask helped me develop the necessary skills for reading cases and appropriately briefing them. The supplemental materials are incredibly helpful to my learning as well It made me realize that this stuff is pretty hard. Much of the material was very dense, so this class aided me in understanding how to work through each issue in the cases we covered as well as deriving the rule of law form each case. Introduced new and challenging concepts Professor Griffith really taught me how to read a problem like lawyer and create arguments for both sides. Material was clear, she made it fairly easy to digest, and is a very straightforward professor. This class, at first, looked like it was going to be very challenging because we dove right into material and I was not familiar with how courts operate. However, I feel like reading these cases have helped me learn how to effectively read case law. Helping me find a way to manage a variety of topics Furthered knowledge of property law, clearing up a lot of confusion that I had before taking the class. I discovered an interest in property law that I didn ' t think I would have had and I think its in large part due to Professor Griffith ' s support and knowledge on the topic. I know this class will be a useful foundation in other aspects of my legal career, as it has already proven to be. I know more about property law It has definitely been a challenge as the material is vigorous and extensive however I felt that Griffith challenged us in a good way professionally and intellectually, to come to class prepared and understand the material. If we didn ' t understand, we would definitely understand by the end of each class. I definitely believe that I have gained the ability to generally understand property and how it affects our communities and laws. I think property benefited my professional and intellectual development in that I have learned about a lot of material that is relevant to my everyday life such as leases and tenant duties as well as property rights. She wants us to do well and it shows in how she teaches us. She, upfront, has been strict with us and has told us what her expectations are and I think that her having such high expectations
