OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations
Additional comments There was a lot of “busy work,” assignments that didn’t help my understanding of the class/material at all. While as noted above, some “real-world” examples were helpful, we spent an exorbitant amount of time talking about nothing. Its an understandably hard balance, but I’m curious to this day as to how a full 1 1/2 class talking about Brittney Spears was remotely beneficial. I learned very little from this class. Everything I learned was from the online Barbri class. Additionally, the midterm and final do not help at all in preparation for the MPRE, seeing as the MPRE is 60 multiple choice questions and the exams in this class are essays. This really made no sense to me — as this class really should be preparing us for that exam. I felt that this class did not prepare me for the MPRE at all and I had to spend hours upon hours learning the material that I should have learned in this class in order to prepare for the MPRE. We received very few questions in class that were helpful in preparing for the MPRE. I really like Professor Ward as a person, and he gave us opportunities outside of class (such as visiting the jail), but had a very hard time learning anything that prepared me for the MPRE in this class and feel like it was a waste of my time. Great person, would never take a class taught by him again. Suffolk SHOULD NOT make this class a requirement— HUGE waste of time Professor Ward belongs in academia, he clearly explains all concepts and is polite to all students. Additionally, I feel his real life examples really highlight the application of the rules in real life. I would be happy to take more classes with a professor of such caliber. Professor Ward is an excellent instructor. Professor Ward is probably one of the most dedicated and caring professors I ' ve ever had at the law school. He brought in guest speakers, prepared easy to follow PowerPoint slides, provided hand-written feedback on our midterms, took us on a jail tour, asked us how we were doing as human beings and students all while teaching us the Model Rules. Thank you for your empathy, expertise, and mentorship. None I do not think this class should be 3 credits.
