OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations

Below are the responses to the three open-ended questions asked regarding the instructor and the course. Please note, student responses have not been edited in any way. Blank pages indicate no response for that question. What aspect(s) of the course or instruction enhanced your learning? The Pizzano bible The book was helpful for the rules, but Pizzano gave examples that put the rules into a real life context which was helpful for the more economics based concepts which are difficult for me. Reading material Pizzano has a way to explain topics in such a way that are practical, accurate, and effective. Further, his teaching style is very circular; topics we talked about on day 1 are put into every conversation that we have, every class. Not only does this help me master my understanding of the previous material, but helps me understand new material in a way that is very helpful. Professor Pizzano makes the class very enjoyable. I didn ' t think I would like business related stuff, and took this class just because it ' s bar tested, but I actually really enjoyed the material and lectures, and really found it straightforward. I ' ve been saying to myself all semester "when are things going to get hard??" I don ' t think I would have had as positive as an experience with another professor The practice essay question responses helped me apply class concepts. I appreciated the practice exams given, but wished I received a model answer to be able to refer to. Going over it in class was helpful, but sometimes we got off track and I didn ' t end up getting a clear answer to the question. Being able to converse with the TA and ask questions as needed. The review sessions were very helpful for understanding material TA help. Storytelling hypos to illustrate important points. Class lectures Professor Pizzano is such a friendly and approachable professor and clearly has passion for teaching. Stories about the professors friends and family really helped solidify business concepts. It created connections in my mind and helped me remember in what circumstances which concept would apply. Professor Pizzano ' s enthusiasm for teaching and the topic kept me engaged - which I honestly didn ' t think would happen as I don ' t love the field of business - so I have been very pleasantly surprised. Learning the material through storytelling. I loved how the class was full circle. it was taught very well. Pizzano is a pro, he knows it so well and makes it so consumable. Just an exceptional teacher.
