OLDFall 2022 Law School Course Evaluations

What aspect(s) of the course or instruction could be improved? The focus on reading and reporting out random appellate cases was ridiculous. First of all, we are all evening students and most of us have full time jobs. Expecting us to prepare and present a case with 12 hours (sometimes less) notice is not only absurd its unprofessional. The professor leaned way too heavily on the class review of appellate cases and barely had a syllabus beyond that. I think this class would be much more effective if it were structured like LPS but for appellate practice. More time should be spent on brief writing and critique. I would make this class 4 credits for the amount of work put in. You do a lot more work in this class than a lot of other 3 credit classes I have taken. none I can ' t say- this is an amazing class. I really have no negative feedback, I ' ve loved this class! With respect, I know it was an 8:00 class so it was late, but Prof. Rosseel has a habit of talking through what I am guessing are yawns, which can make what he is saying a little difficult to hear. I would suggest pushing the deadline for the first brief (and the deadline to submit a draft for comments) up one week, and keeping the deadline for the second brief as is. It seemed like there was a lot of time leading up until the first draft was due, followed by a rapid turnaround/conclusion to the semester. I think at least 3 days for oral argument, to allow more time to present, would be beneficial, too. Nothing, I loved the course!
