Spring 2022 Course Evaluations
Below are the responses to the three open-ended questions asked regarding the instructor and the course. Please note, student responses have not been edited in any way. Blank pages indicate no response for that question. What aspect(s) of the course or instruction enhanced your learning? Professor Pokorak always began class with a discussion of current events related to constitutional law. This was very engaging and helped understand the application of the material. When we went over the cases in detail, it really helped explain the thinking of the court during that time period. Barbri helped me understand it Presentation None The only beneficial part of this course was discussing life events that related to the constitution but had nothing to do with current topics or how they directly related to what we were talking about. The material assigned was too much and we barely got to anything. making comparisons to modern-day issues, applying what we know to current events I enjoyed the in-class discussions of current events in Constitutional Law. It made the class feel relevant and current even though we were learning historical perspectives at points in the course. I did not find any aspect of this course to be helpful in understanding constitutional law. I found that there was very little actual instruction given, and that the professor chose to spend class time discussing personal opinions on political views and random historical information irrelevant to the class itself, and failed to instruct the class on the important topics of constitutional law that will be on the bar exam. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of educational value provided in this course. Additionally, the midterm examination included questions about songs played in class rather than questions regarding constitutional law, and was riddled with typographical errors and irrelevant information. I really enjoyed the songs Professor Pokorak played at the beginning of class and related them to the topics we were learning. Based on professor Pokorak performance I could not be more happy with how he prepared me for his material and exam. His information was very direction and enhanced my aspect of the constitution and government functions in our everyday law interactions. However, Professor Landers was quite the opposite not at all direct or preparative for our class. I’ve never heard her say so much "reading actually helps, maybe you should actually read" quite frankly she did not want to do her job and was unworkable. None. The instruction was not at all beneficial to my learning and did reflect any of the material we were required to read. Not only do I feel upset and that I have wasted my tuition on this class but I also feel completely unprepared for the BAR. I’m afraid and actually angry that I 6
