Below are the responses to the three open-ended questions asked regarding the instructor and the course. Please note, student responses have not been edited in any way. Blank pages indicate no response for that question. What aspect(s) of the course or instruction enhanced your learning? I learned a lot of base foundational aspects the supplemental book is the only thing that has made me be able to clearly understand what is going on in the class. The T.A. Rachel Lynch deserves significant acknowledgment. She was an extremely useful resource and was so helpful in her review sessions. The course itself was extremely difficult and not engaging at all due to Prof. Landers’s teaching style and attitude towards students. The TA Connecting it to present cases. I think the aspect of Constitutional Law that enhanced my learning was the workload. There was a larger workload in comparison to other courses, and I think it prepared me to read through cases more effectively and to not get to boggled down in irrelevant/non-dispositive facts. The supplemental book is what helped me understand the content The TA has been very helpful explaining the information. ~Ungraded midterm was very beneficial Being asked to read all the notes in the textbook. Really enhanced the opinions and what we covered in class. Professor Landers is kind and suffers no fools. Thank you for making us better students. The use of historical context and questions to guide reading posted questions to guide you through the reading, TA sessions were also very helpful Slides I really enjoy the study of Constitutional law. The cases and course content are interesting and I can clearly see its relevance to the practice of law. The midterm was extremely helpful. I appreciated the use of a current event to apply the concepts we learned in class. It helped me understand the material better. I don’t think any aspect enhanced my learning. - I felt she was disorganized and unprofessional, and provided us with more excuses as to why she didn’t upload the slides on time or why she was late to class than actually teach the material. Landers promoted open discussion in the classroom, which promoted learning, both of the material, as well as the rationale behind opposing viewpoints. I appreciated the quizzes and which there were more. Prof. Landers explains things very efficiently and she is easy to understand Having the slides available before class was definitely helpful. I could see what were the questions I was supposed to be able to answer after doing the readings, as well as tell which note cases 6
