Spring 2022 Course Evaluations

What aspect(s) of the course or instruction could be improved?

If I were to suggest one improvement in instruction of the course, it would be to keep to the readings assigned to a certain class, rather than move ahead. Sometimes, Professor Glannon would continue to discuss readings that had not been assigned yet because he completed teaching the material he had planned for that class period. n/a The material can be a bit dry and repetitive, especially in the damages section. Could likely move through this faster. N/A - Prof. Glannon is really great I like the course entirely. The quizzes should be dropped. The quizzes were styled completely different than our class discussions or even the reading that we had covered, making it hard to apply the concepts that we had learned. While I do think that Professor Glannon’s cold calling keeps the class engaged, it is sometimes exhausting to always be on your toes for a cold call. None. Well, maybe a short break halfway through since it’s a long class? I did not like the no-laptop policy. I found it a waste of time to take notes by hand only to transcribe them into my computer later. Additionally, because I write so slowly, I ended up missing some important information. Were it not for the class recordings and our TA’s review sessions, I would be missing out on some important information. I ended up switching back to my laptop a few weeks ago because I just got swamped with LPS assignments and Con Law readings and it was becoming too stressful to transcribe my notes every class. N/A. A short break during the longer classes would be helpful as I found myself losing interest towards the end of classes. Small reviews before each quiz to summarize the topics, a bit more time spent on the rule and reasoning of the case (rather than facts) .. Some of the topics tend to bleed together in the lecture, maybe state a clear rule of what we are talking about when, because it became hard to follow when we were jumping around everywhere (especially with damages). None. I can’t really think of much! We may not have gotten to it in the course yet, but if there could be a small section on how he would like students to write exams, I think that would be helpful. Better use of technology when on zoom Emails each day are had to keep up with when you want to do work ahead. Maybe dates on the syllabus
