Spring 2022 Course Evaluations

What aspect(s) of the course or instruction could be improved?

New evidence lecturer. The current one was not engaging and was very unclear so it took me 3 times as long as the suggested time to complete None!! Pass/Fail Need more practice questions. Barbri is rather long winded and redundant when discussing bar exam strategies. Wish there was more MTP practice. Overall feel like I am read for bar prep. Na It is just so boring and the Barbri videos are condescending at times I think it’s way too much work. It should be 3 credits. Especially if it’s supposed to be a focus in 3L. Perhaps necessary office hours once in a while to check in, as this was a very independent course that required a lot of self discipline. n/a more non-barbri material it got really boring at points and it would have been nice to be able to skip over repetitive things I think the class should have some sort of discussion board where students can raise issues or difficulties they had with certain modules. Or maybe, students could email these concerns to Professor Defabritiis, who could collectively place these concerns, or address them, in a discussion board on Blackboard. Alternatively, it would have been great to meet as a class (even over Zoom) once a week to review how things are going in the modules. I wish that some of the weeks were cut down slightly in content. Some weeks throughout the semester, though not all, can be quite tough to get through even though we have a week to complete them (this is especially so with holidays, other school/work commitments, and sometimes life in general). I know this is hard to alter due to the amount of information we need to learn in the short period of time, but I think this would make students feel more comfortable in the quality of work they produce within the weekly modules and/or assignment. The modules can be way too long for something that is a two credit class. Some weeks I myself falling behind because of the sheer amount that is assigned. some of the modules were repetitive but that cant really be helped in a third party program I felt the exams contained material that were not necessarily covered in lectures. I liked doing this as an all online, asynchronous class There was zero opportunity to interact with other students taking this class. It would’ve been nice to be able to interact or study "together" in some way. The recorded lectures were just not that helpful. I wonder if an in person class would have been better than the jumble of videos and writing assignments that were required for t his class.
