Below are the responses to the three open-ended questions asked regarding the instructor and the course. Please note, student responses have not been edited in any way. Blank pages indicate no response for that question. What aspect(s) of the course or instruction enhanced your learning? It was very effective with the lectures and opportunities to receive feedback I LOVED that it was asynchronous and that I was able to access the material in my own time. This allowed me to be so much more engaged and able to learn the material. Honestly, everything was so helpful! The feedback she offered on assignments was helpful many practice questions to test understanding The online component was wonderfully flexible. I loved the skills building retention quizzes. They really helped gauge where my understanding was lacking. the modules and practice quizzes and essays the asynchronous abilities I liked that we were able to work at our own pace and rewatch lessons as necessary The modules and quizzes, while time consuming, were a great way to become reacquainted with first year concepts and rules. This class, which has given us a head start on bar prep, is challenging to say the very least (especially when taking other classes and working on top of it), but I am truly so glad I took this it. I would recommend it to every single 3L student, as it is one of the best classes you could take as a law student. In addition to the course itself, Professor Defabritiis is incredibly helpful. Though we are learning through the weekly BARBRI modules, she provides great advice and encouragement every week and is always there if we have any questions that we need answered face-to-face, via Zoom or via email. She reminds us of the importance of progress over perfection and that has made a great impact on me, especially as I bring my law school career to a close. I liked that I could do the work on my own time. The BARBRI courses are super effective in summarizing topics. For example, confusion that I had about contracts from 1L was cleared up by these lectures. The outlines and materials were helpful for preparation for the bar exam Lectures and interactive assignments. Having the flexibility to work on the material as my scheduled afforded. This format was really helpful to learning. It had a number of different learning methods (animated video, reading, lectures and plenty of examples). I wish I had taken this in 2L or 3L year. It gave me an overview of the bar exam and we reviewed certain topics that will be on the bar exam. the Barbri program is great and then all of Professor DeFabritiis’s feedback on our practice essays 7
