Legal Research Databases – Westlaw Edge, Lexis+, and More
All students will be emailed information about access to some of the major legal research databases that you will be using in law school like Westlaw Edge and Lexis+. In that email, you will also receive information about CALI – a resource that has great interactive exercises to help you with your 1L courses. In addition to Westlaw Edge and Lexis+, all students have access to a number of other research databases via the Law School’s Research Databases page . To keep up with the news, students can create their own free, online NYT account and access the Washington Post.
Study Aids
Students study and learn in different ways – we try to accommodate all learning styles. The Law Library offers a wealth of resources and services to help Suffolk University Law School students succeed in law school and be practice ready.
Study aids are a great way to prepare for class and get ready for exams.
Access online, full-text West Academic Study Aids, including the Hornbook and Nutshell series (which explain the law) and Exam Pro series (which includes essay and multiple-choice questions so you can test your knowledge). You can also listen to detailed lectures in more than twenty areas of law in the Sum and Substance series.
CALI has wonderful online, interactive exercises to help you test and review your knowledge for your 1L classes – they’re also great practice as you prepare for exams .
Many professors post copies of exam questions from previous years in our past exams database. Use these exams to practice test taking and gauge your knowledge of the subject. SeRiouS was created for law students by Suffolk Law School Professor Gabe Teninbaum to increase memory
