DEGREE REQUIREMENTS

Requirements for the Juris Doctor Degree

1. All students must complete 84 credits.

2. All students must complete the following courses: Contracts, Civil Procedure, Criminal Law, Property, Legal Practice Skills, Constitutional Law, and Torts.

3. All students must complete the course in Professional Responsibility.

4. Guided Curriculum : Any student who completes their first year with a cumulative GPA of 2.670 or higher but less than 3.000 must complete all of the following courses in order to be eligible to graduate:

a. Evidence;

b. Trusts and Estates;

c. Business Entity Fundamentals;

d. Commercial Law Survey, or Commercial Sales and Secured Transactions;

e. Criminal Procedure;

f.

Family Law

g. Advanced Survey:Civil, Criminal Law, Property or Advanced Survey:Contracts, Evidence, Torts (must be taken in final year of study)

5. Students placed on Academic Warning must satisfactorily complete, and earn a grade of C or better in, the following courses:

a. Legal Analysis & Methods (must be taken no later than the fall semester of the student’s second year)

b. Advanced Legal Analysis

c. Evidence

d. Trusts and Estates

e. Business Entity Fundamentals

f. Commercial Law Survey, or Commercial Sales and Secured Transactions

g. Criminal Procedure

h. Family Law
