STUDENT ACCESS TO MEETING ROOMS, MOOT COURTROOMS AND CLASSROOMS AND OTHER CAMPUS SPACES
Students must comply with the operating hours of all University buildings. Students must vacate the building or closed areas/floors of a building when the operating hours cease for the day. The University reserves the right to close spaces, floors or entire buildings at any time and students may not enter or remain in closed areas. Students wishing to use University meeting rooms, moot courtrooms, classrooms or other campus spaces used for gatherings must reserve these spaces through the Room Reservation system in accordance with applicable University policies and procedures. Students using these spaces without an approved reservation must vacate the space immediately if requested to do so by a University employee. Students may not request access to locked spaces without an approved reservation. Faculty/Administrative office suites, lobbies and reception areas, Faculty/Administrative offices, student organization offices, honor board offices and other spaces not available through the Room Reservation system are not available for student use without express permission of the faculty member or administrator who supervises the space. Students may use open lounge and huddle areas during the normal business hours of the building in which the lounge or huddle area is located. Access to seating in a lounge or huddle space is on a first come, first served basis and seating cannot be reserved. The use of a lounge or huddle area must not impede or disrupt the normal operations of the University. At times, lounge and huddle areas may be used for University programming. In such cases, students must vacate the lounge or huddle area for the duration of the program. Outdoor space at the University is limited to certain entryways/porticos of our buildings. These spaces are not available for programming by students or student groups and thus, may not be reserved by students or student organizations. The open space outside of the Samia Building, Roemer Plaza, is not owned nor managed by the University and its use requires special reservation, as well as city and state permits.
Study group spaces are available in the Mildred F. Sawyer Library and the Moakley Law Library by reservation, with certain restrictions.
